Car batteries act as the heart of the vehicle, providing it with a constant stream of power. However, when the battery is low or depleted, the car can experience a variety of symptoms. Understanding these symptoms can help you take timely measures to avoid unnecessary trouble.

First, the five major symptoms of a dead car battery

Difficulty starting: This is the most obvious symptom of a dead car battery. When you try to start your vehicle, if the engine turns slowly or makes a continuous clicking sound, but cannot start successfully, then it is likely that the battery is low.

Abnormal dashboard lights: The lights on the dashboard are an important indicator of the status of your car's battery. If the lights are dimmer than usual, or if certain warning lights are flashing abnormally, this could mean that the battery is low.

Limited functionality of electrical equipment: A low battery can affect the electrical equipment in your car. For example, you may notice that the audio system volume is reduced, the windows slow down or the sunroof doesn't open properly.

Stalling immediately after starting: If your vehicle stalls immediately after starting, or suddenly stalls while driving, the battery may not have enough power to keep the engine running properly.

Make a warning sound: Some modern vehicles are equipped with a low battery warning system that makes a warning sound or displays a warning message when the battery level falls below a certain level.

Second, countermeasures

Check battery condition: First, check the appearance of the battery for signs of corrosion, leakage or damage. Also, use a voltmeter to check the voltage value of the battery to determine if the battery needs to be replaced.

Replace the battery: If the battery is depleted or damaged, it should be replaced promptly. Select a battery that matches the model and specifications of your vehicle and install it properly according to the instructions.

Use emergency starting power: In an emergency, you can use emergency starting power to start your car. However, please note that this is only a temporary solution and the battery still needs to be replaced afterwards.

Avoid prolonged non-use of the vehicle: prolonged non-use of the vehicle will result in gradual depletion of the battery. If you do not use the vehicle for a long time, it is recommended to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to avoid losing battery power.

Regular maintenance: Regular maintenance is the key to keeping your car battery healthy. It is recommended that you have your battery checked and maintained by a professional repair store on a regular basis to ensure that it is always in good condition.
